We all are influencers in one way or another. We affect others through our sphere of influence whether it is for good or bad. This means that we have the capacity to affect others in their development, behavior and character.

The word influencer has gained notoriety over the past 20 years, especially within the blogger and social media arena.

In summary, parents, family members, pastors, counselors, teachers, doctors, nurses, lawyers, business owners, store clerks and the list go on, influence us in our decision making.

As parents we influence our children to eat nutritious meals, arrive on time for school or appointments. This is profound because children do not go out and buy groceries or drive until they’re old enough to do so. In essence they depend on their parents for these essential ways of life. It is so important that parents help to develop good behaviors in their children at an early age so when they grow up this will be instilled in them to eat healthily, to be prompt for appointments and so much more. When we develop habits at an early age, they follow us into our adult life.

Hopefully, you have already begun to think about how you’re influencing others. Where do you stand as an influencer? You and I may not have reached the highest level of influence on social media, but we are affecting those in our sphere of influence in our home, workplace, faith-based community and our community at large. I encourage you to keep making strides and influence others for the better.
