Ponder, Pray, Pursue

There are times in life when we need to ponder before we make our next move. Pondering takes place in our mind. It means to think about, ‘reflect on, to think or consider especially quietly, soberly, and deeply.’ It’s not an easy task to do, specifically when we have to make some very difficult decisions.

We have to count up the cost to determine if the time is right. Luke 14:28 states, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.” We don’t a have crystal ball to predict the future, that’s why it’s so important to pray for the right time and season to obtain the best outcome.

After we write down our inner thoughts we need to pray.  We must first determine if this is what we really want and not a fly by night idea. Then this gives us a great opportunity to submit our plan to God to make sure if it’s according to His plan for us.  If you have ever been in a situation and you don’t know what to do next, please pray. Prayer is having a conversation with God. We talk to Him and He talks back to us or vice versus. He prompts us to listen, He gives directions and we follow His lead. We pray for all things at all times. Ephesians 6:18 states, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”

The next step is to execute the plan. We’ve pondered, prayed and now it’s time to pursue and move into our promise. Our promises are yes and amen. Pursue meaning ‘is to go after, follow after, chase, follow, continue or proceed along a path or route.’ It’s best not to continue pondering or questioning if we received an answer in prayer,  but claim what ours is rightfully. It’s the right time and the right season to move into our next. The vision has been written, approved so we must take it to the next level and claim our inheritance. We believe that there are no hold ups, setbacks or delays for the time is now. I Timothy 6:11-12 states, “But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” When we align ourselves with what God is saying about us then we will win every time.
